Armenia submits bid for 1 million 772 thousand USD to
Millennium Challenge Corporation for first quarter of 2010

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. A
regilar meeting of Governing Council of the Millennium Challenge
Account-Armenia (MCA-Armenia) state non-commercial organization
took place on December 18. The meeting was conducted by the
Council Chairman, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The RA government reports that the Council approved the bid
for the 14th tranche for MCA-Armenia, according to which a bid
of 1,771,871 USD was presented to the Millennium Challenge
Corporation for the first quarter of 2010. With funds to be
provided under this bid, it is planned to continue construction
work, including rehabilitation of 17 pumping stations, 5
gravity-fed canals and 6 main canals, as well as to start
rehabilitation of irrigation networks in some communities of
Ararat, Armavir and Vayots Dzor Marzes and the drainage system
of Ararat Valley.
