YEREVAN, JANUARY 15, NOYAN TAPAN. Issues related to the implementation of Resolutions 1609 and 1620 of the PACE were discussed at the January 15 meeting of the Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan and the PACE co-rapporteurs John Prescott and Georges Colombier. According to the RA presidetial press service, S. Sargsyan restated the Armenian authorities' determination regarding the implementation of the provisions of these resolutions. S. Sargsyan thanked the co-rapporteurs for visiting Armenia prior to the PACE plenary session. He underlined that the further deepening of democracy proceeds from the interests of Armenia itself and expressed a high opinion about the role that the Council of Europe plays in this issue.
