12-MONTH INFLATION MAKES 109.7% IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 2, NOYAN TAPAN. The consumer price index made 111.3% in Armenia in September 2008 on September 2007, including the index of food commodities (including alcoholic drinks and cigarettes) - 112.6%, of non-food commodities - 108.2%, of services - 110.6%. The same indices in January-September 2008 on January-September 2007 made 109.7%, 111.5%, 105.7% and 108.4%. According to the RA National Statistical Service, 0.5% inflation was recorded in Armenian consumer market in September on August 2008. The prices of food commodities (including alcoholic drinks and cigarettes) grew by 0.6%, service tariffs grew by 0.6%, while non-food commodity prices fell by 0.1%. The consumer price index in September 2008 on December 2007 made 104.2%, including that of food commodities (including alcoholic drinks and cigarettes) - 101.1%, of non-food commodities - 105.2%, of services - 109.7%. The average monthly increase in consumer prices made 0.5% in January-September 2008 against a 0.05% fall in the same period of 2007.
