NONFOOD COMMODITY PRICES INCREASE BY 0.5% IN ARMENIA IN
FEBRUARY 2008

YEREVAN, MARCH 4, NOYAN TAPAN. 0.5% inflation registered in
Armenia's nonfood commodity market in February on January 2008
was mainly conditioned by 8.5% growth of fuel prices (due to
11.9% growth in liquid petroleum gas).
According to the RA National Statistical Service, there was
0.1-2.1% growth in prices of furniture, textiles, footwear,
building materials, stationery, detergents and jewelry in the
indicated period. Prices of cultural goods, domestic electric
appliances, cosmetics, horticultural items, clothing and drapery
fell by 0.1-1.7%, while prices in the three other commodity
groups under observation remained at the level of the previous
month.
