YEREVAN, OCTOBER 3, NOYAN TAPAN. Gagik Hakobian, the co-owner of the Royal Armenia company, returned to Yerevan on October 3, the policemen accompanied him to the police station of Shengavit community from the airport, he was arrested and moved to the Nubarashen penitentiary institution. Thus, the Criminal Appeal Court's August 29 decision on choosing arrest as a preventive punishment for him was fulfilled. According to that decision, a search was announced to G. Hakobian, who was in Spain for the purpose of medical treatment, and the case on his part was suspended until his return. As Ashot Sargsian, G. Hakobian's defender, said in his interview to Noyan Tapan correspondent, on October 3 he submitted a petition to the Criminal Appeal Court, asking to examine the issue of changing G. Hakobian's preventive punishment, as well as to withdraw the case from suspension and to resume the judicial enquiry with participation of two defendants. It should be mentioned that the case on the part of Aram Ghazarian, the Deputy Director of Royal Armenia, was examined at the Criminal Appeal Court on the basis of the appeal complaints of prosecutors and Vache Petrosian, a representative of the aggrieved party, Federal Investment Group. They appeal against the acquittal judgement of the first instance court of Yerevan's Kentron and Nork-Marash communities demanding to find the defendants guilty to the whole amount of the accusation, forging the bills, deliberately avoiding payment of taxes, smuggling, misappropriating incomes gained by the criminal way, seizing the property of the Federal Investment Group company by a deceit. The court sitting on A. Gazarian's part failed on October 3 by court's statement, due to absence of prosecutors. The prosecutors came to the court sitting 19 minutes late, but the court had already postponed the sitting until October 15.
