GERMAN BUSINESSMEN EXPRESS WILLINGNESS TO ASSIST ARMENIAN

YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, NOYAN TAPAN. The Armenian government has
allocated a 8 thousand square-meter area in Yerevan's Shengavit
community to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (by the right
of ownership) with the aim of establishing an exhibition center.
The chairman of the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI)
Martin Sargsian said at the August 2 meeting with the delegation
of Germany's CCI and representatives of Cronimet company that
the complex will include business centers, exhibition and
conference halls, as well as a customs point where imported
goods to be presented at business exhibitions will be customs
cleared.
In the words of M. Sargsian, the CCI is currently
conducting negotiations concerning attraction of necessary
investments with several companies from Czech Republic, Russia
and Iran.
As regards the priorities of the RA CCI, Martin Sargsian
pointed out assistance for creation of small agricultural
processing plants in areas adjacent to purchase facilities. He
said that it would allow to avoid a negative impact on the
quality of purchased products during their transportation.
Representative of Germany's Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Robert Huber stated that the German side is ready to
assist Armenian partners with solution of their problems in
those sectors of economy where Germany has much potential.
