YEREVAN, JUNE 20, NOYAN TAPAN. 4500 apartments have been built and given to refugees since 1994 up to this day with the financing of the Armenian Office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees and Norwegian Council for Refugees. Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed about it by Ara Haroutiunian, Head of Department for Refugees of Migration Agency of RA Ministry of Territorial Administration. In his words, apartment construction program is being implemented at present, too, with the financing of these organizations. A. Haroutiunian said that the dwelling problem of refugees is solved with state assistance, too. By the program of Providing with Flats of Persons Repressed from Azerbaijan implemented since 2005 it is planned to provide with apartments 3500 families living in small houses and administrative constructions. The program, by which apartment buying certificates are given to refugees, has been already implemented in 9 regions. This year it is being implemented in the Kotayk region and in 2008 will be implemented in Yerevan as well. To recap, June 20 is the International Day of Refugees.
