IN 2006 RA STATE TAX SERVICE COLLECTS REVENUES OF 220
BILLION 683 MILLION DRAMS

YEREVAN, JANUARY 25, NOYAN TAPAN. In 2006, the State Tax
Service adjunct to the Armenian government collected revenues of
220 bln 683 mln drams (about 604 mln USD) against the programmed
220 bln 417 mln drams, with the overfulfilment making 266 mln
drams. The actual growth on 2005 made about 47 bln drams (or
27%). According to the report submitted to the RA prime
minister, in recent years the growth of tax revenues has been
stable and proportional.
By the report, there was a positive change in the structure
of collected taxes, in particular, the share of direct taxes
(profit tax, income tax) increased thanks to the economic growth
without a change in tax rates, improvement of tax administration
and taxation of shadow turnover. Besides, in 2006 the tax
service continued to kkep in the center of its attention the
risky sectors - construction, mining industry, transport, trade,
gas sectors.
In 2006, 1,021 rulings were made based on confiscation
suits brought to court by the tax service, with 903 of them
being satisfied.
