YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, NOYAN TAPAN. In 2006, Armenian GDP
made 2 trillion 665 billion 663.4 million drams (over 6 bln 407
mln USD calculated at the average exchange rate of 416.04 drams
in the indicated period) at market prices, which exceeds by
13.4% the respective index of the previous year. According to
the RA National Statistical Service, the GDP index-deflator made
104.8%.
Industrial production amounted to 643 bln 503.7 mln drams
in 2006, declining by 0.9% on the previous year, industrial
production without diamond production - to 640 bln 696.7 mln
drams, growing by 2.3%. Gross agricultural output made 555 bln
922.3 mln drams, growing by 0.4% on the previous year,
construction made 623 bln 111.5 mln drams, growing by 37.1%.
In 2006, Armenia's foreign trade made 3 bln 198 mln USD or
by 15.2% more than in the previous year. These indices without
diamonds made 2 bln 729.4 mln USD and 21.7%. Exports amounted to
1 bln 4 mln USD, growing by 3.1%, exports without diamonds -
758.4 mln USD, growing by 6.7%. Imports made 2 bln 194.3 mln
USD, growing by 21.8%, imports without diamonds - 1 bln 971 mln
USD, growing by 28.7%.
Retail trade made 820 bln 816.7 mln drams in 2006, which
exceeds by 10.5% the previous year's index, while services
amounted to 474 bln 716.9 mln drams, increasing by 20.2%.
The consumer price index made 102.9% in 2006 compared with
the previous year, the index of manufacturers' production prices
- 96.8%.
Last year the average nominal monthly salary in Armenia
made 64.001 thousand drams or by 23.5% more than in the previous
year. These indices with respect to employees of budgetary
institutions made 45.130 thousand drams and 125.8%, with respect
to employees of non-budgetary institutions - 77.883 thousand
drams and 21.2%. The budgetary monetary revenues amounted to 1
trillion 721 billion 466.9 million drams or by 19.8% more, while
monetary expenditures - to 1 trillion 649 billion 900 million
drams, or by 19% more.
The average exchange rate of the Armenian dram against the
US dollar made 416.04 drams in 2006 against the average exchange
rate of 457.69 drams in the previous year.
