YEREVAN, OCTOBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. The occasion for the
meeting with writer and cinema dramatist Kim Bakshi organized on
October 3 at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (RAU)
was his regular, 6th book on Armenia, Armenian culture and
history under the title "Frozen Time" published in Moscow.
K.Bakshi is author of 6 books about Armenia. More than 50
documentary and popular science films were shot by his
scenarios, including multi-serial documentary "Matenadaran" that
has received many awards.
In the words of RAU Rector Armen Darbinian, the writer went
so deep into the Armenian soul, gave such a bright and talented
description of Armenia to the Russian reader that it would be
natural to call K.Bakshi a great continuer of Valery Brusov's
work in the 20th and 21st centuries. "We can affirm that
K.Bakshi with his activity greatly contributed to
Russian-language readers' getting to understand our history, our
culture and religion," A.Darbinian said.
In his turn, K.Bakshi stated: "I write first of all for my
soul...I also write for the very people I live among, as I think
that the spiritual values, the wealth existing in the Armenian
people, in the Armenian history should be accepted, understood
and taken into consideration by my own people. I would like
many features of the Armenian people to be perceived by our
people, too, as I have always considered the Armenian people to
be hard-working, educated and spiritual."
It is noteworthy that for selfless enlightenment activity
of many years, for fruitful work on study of Armenian
manuscripts, for huge contribution to popularization of Armenian
history and culture, K.Bakshi was awarded Honorable Order of
RAU.
