YEREVAN, OCTOBER 3, NOYAN TAPAN. Adoption in the first
reading of the package of legislative amendments on the
transmitting sphere failed at the October 3 sitting of RA
National Assembly.
RA President's proposal on expediency of stopping the
operation of 1992 July 6 agreement "On the Status of CIS
Economic Court" for RA was also voted down. Before the voting
independent MP Hmayak Hovhannisian declared that no serious
discussion of the issue had taken place and RA President's
official representative, in essence, had not grounded the above
mentioned proposal. The MP called on his colleagues not to vote
in the place of those absent and as a result, the bill received
only 61 in favor without opposed and abstained.
At the sitting RA adopted about 15 bills and legislative
packages discussed earlier.
The agreement "On Work of Persons under Guardianship of
Servants Discharging Official Obligations in Receiving State
Between Governments of RA and U.S." signed on 2005 September 20
and December 30 as exchange of declarations was ratified.
Bill on amendments and additions to RA NA Regulations was
also among the draft laws passed at the sitting. The bill was
submitted by all political forces represented at NA with the
exception of the United Labor Party faction. The alternative
draft law submitted by the latter was not approved receiving 21
in favor, 34 opposed and 2 abstained votes.
