YEREVAN, JANUARY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. 1415 performances were shown in 16 state theaters of Armenia in 2005. "Armmono-3" international festival, "Tavush-2005" festival, first children's and youth puppet festival and a reciting festival was held with state assistance during the year. According to the data of RA Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs, last year country's theatrical collectives took part in a number of festivals, including Gabriel Sundukian National Academic Theater's participation in Moscow Chekhov 6th international theatrical festival. In 2005 Vanadzor Hovhannes Abelian State Dramatic Theater performed on tours in Tbilisi and Gyumri Vardan Achemian State Dramatic Theater in Syria. In the sphere of folk art the international conference under the title "Knowledge and Symbol, Superstition and Tradition,", art festival "Let's Preserve Our Culture" and ashough song festival "Cane Pipe" were held with state assistance.
