YEREVAN, February 3 (Noyan Tapan). The "Nane" show ballet
won 2 gold medals on the "Classical" and "Folk" dance
nominations at the "Tanzolymp" international competition held on
January 13-17 in Berlin.
Narine Topolian, head of the group, reported during the
February 3 press conference that this is the second prize of
"Nane" ballet group. The group won the first grand prix at the
"Dance Open" international ballet competition in St.Petersburg.
600 dance groups from 22 countries participated in the
"Tanzolymp" international competition. According to
N.Topolian, the competition was very complicated as the groups
participating in the competition were mainly pupils of the best
dance academy of the world. 2 members of the "Nane" group,
11-year-old twins Diana and Christine Hayrapetians, represented
8 items on the programme, including the "Kakavik" of Komitas.
According to the head of the dance group, RF People's Artist
Vladimir Vasilyev, head of the jury, praised the Armenian
children.
According to N.Topolian, they were informed about the
competition by their colleagues, after which they applied to a
number of organizations expecting to get financial assistance
but they received no answer. The dance group had great
difficulty in collecting the corresponding sum in order to
represent the Armenian art at the authoritative competition
in Berlin.
N.Topolian also said that they have received invitations
from New York and St.Petersburg, as well, but declined them
because of lack of travel expenses.
