YEREVAN, DECEMBER 29, NOYAN TAPAN. The Government adopted at the December 29 sitting decision about affirming the state list of immovable monuments of history and culture of the Syunik marz. As Artyom Grigorian, the Chief of the Agency on Protecting History and Culture Monuments of the RA Ministry of Culture and Youth Issues informed journalists, it's possible to say clearly after affirming the list of monuments of the Syunik marz that there are 23 thousand 459 monuments on the whole territory of Armenia. According to A.Grigorian, as a result of creating new marzes by new division of the territory of Armenia, there was a necessity to form the list of monuments according to marzes. Besides, the last lists were affirmed in 1983, and there was a necessity of registering numerous historic-cultural monuments found out during that period. A.Grigorian also mentioned that the order of moving monuments specially relates to Yerevan as, according to him, "the city center is in a full development."
