YEREVAN, June 28 (Noyan Tapan). 68-year-old Tigran
Levonian, RA People's artist, professor, died after a hard, long
illness.
In 1946 his family immigrated from Beyrut to Armenia. From
1962 he worked in the Theatre of Opera and Ballet after
A.Spendiarian as a soloist. Owing to the unique tenor of Tigran
Levonian the best pages of the Armenian opera art were created
in those years. From 1991 till 1999 T.Levonian was the artistic
director and the manager of the theatre. In 90s with Tigran
Levonian's efforts a number of performances were staged,
"Anush," "Arshak the Second," he also played a great role in the
Armenian cinema, he was shot in the "Karine" musical film,
staged the "Almast," "Arshak the Second" films.
