ARMENIAN ASSEMBLY CAPITAL REGION COUNCIL PREPARES FOR HOLIDAY SEASON

Washington, DC - The Armenian Assembly of America's (Assembly) Capital Region Council (CRC) met recently to review Assembly initiatives, including plans for the Assembly's Holiday Reception and Briefing at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to be held on Sunday, December 12 at 3:00 PM. Organized by Assembly Board Member Annie Totah, along with Capital Region Council Co-Chairs Clara Andonian and Doris George, Totah stated that "the Assembly is pleased to continue its community activities in the nation's capital and to host our members for a special holiday reception." The Assembly Holiday Reception will include a briefing from Assembly Executive Director Bryan Ardouny, and an update from Assembly Board Member Annie Totah, with Assembly Grassroots Director Taniel Koushakjian serving as Master of Ceremonies. Invited dignitaries include Armenia's Ambassador to the United States His Excellency Tatoul Markarian, and Nagorno Karabakh Representative to the United States Mr. Robert Avetisyan. This year's invited keynote speaker is Dr. Rouben Adalian, Director of the Armenian National Institute and Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum and Memorial. Rev. Fr. Hovsep Karapetian from St. Mary Armenian Church will offer the invocation, with musical entertainment graciously provided by Edita Dolunts-Kalayjian (vocals-soprano) and CRC member Naira Babayan (piano). "We look forward to reviewing our successes over the past year and to celebrate the Holiday season with our friends," stated Koushakjian. Established in 1972, the Armenian Assembly of America is the largest Washington-based nationwide organization promoting public understanding and awareness of Armenian issues. The Assembly is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt membership organization.
