YEREVAN, MARCH 31, NOYAN TAPAN. Though the PACE demands have not been fulfilled completely, nevertheless the Armenian authorities have taken concrete steps in that direction, which was recorded by the Monitoring Group. Artyusha Shahbazian, the Secretary of the RA National Assembly ARFD faction, stated at the March 31 press conference. He said that many of those convicted on the 2008 March 1 events have been already granted an amnesty and, most importantly, Articles 225 and 300, RA Criminal Code, have been amended. According to A. Shahbazian, thus the Criminal Code was cleaned of two political articles, which in itself is already a great progress and is of much importance for not only the current situation, but also for the future. It should be mentioned that on March 30 the Monitoring Committee discussed the process of Armenia's filfilling Resolution N 1643. The Committee welcomed the legislative reforms carried out and attached improtance to the further process of their use.
