NICE, MARCH 21, NOYAN TAPAN. The 5th round of the Amber International Chess Tournament was held in Nice (France) on March 20. Levon Aronian played with Vasily Ivanchuk of Ukraine. They drew in blinfold, while in rapid the Armenian chess player won. L. Aronian earned 6.5 points and is in solo lead in the points table. He is followed by Vladimir Kramnik of Russia, Peter Leko of Hungary, Magnus Carlsen of Norway, Viswanathan Anand of India, Vasily Ivanchuk of Ukraine and Veselin Tobalov of Bulgaria. Each of these players earned 5.5 points.
