EXPENSES OF STATE SOURCES INCREASE IN HEALTH SYSTEM OF

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, NOYAN TAPAN. For the first time a
report on the 2004-2006 National Health Accounts has been made
in Armenia. According to the information provided by Ara
Ter-Grigorian, the Head of the RA State Health Agency, at the
presentation of the report held on October 19, the health
expenses made more than 12.4 million drams, in general, in 2006
in the RA Health System instead of the 12.1 million drams of
2005, according to the National Health Accounts. According to
him, the financing volumes of the 2005-2006 RA Health System
have mainly fallen to the lot of the state sources. In 2006 the
volumes of the expenses made in the system for a person made 38
597 drams (approximately 113 U.S. dollars) instead of the 33 925
drams of 2004 (increase makes 14%). The financing from the state
sources for a person made 13 090 drams in 2006 instead of the
8278 dreams of 2004 (increase by 58%). The financing provided by
private sources made 19 921 drams in 2006 instead of the 23 362
drams of 2004 (decrease by 17%). The volumes of the expenditures
made by foreign donors for a person made 5586 drams in 2006
instead of the 2285 drams of 2004.
In the words of Ara Ter-Grigorian, there is a considerable
increase in the expenses of the state sources among general
health ones. He stated that in parallel with the increase in the
expenditures made by the state sources and foreign donors, the
volumes of the expenditures made in the health system by private
sources have decreased.
