MIKAEL HARUTYUNIAN: RA ARMED FORCES ARE EFFICIENT AND READY
TO PERFORM THEIR MILITARY TASKS

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, NOYAN TAPAN. 75.3 bln drams (about
215 mln USD) was allocated from the 2006 state budget of the RA
with the aim of maintaining the military preparedness and
efficiency of the RA armed forces. The fulfilment index made
100%. 82.7% of allocations was spent on current expenditures,
17.3% - on capital expenditures. The RA minister of defence
Mikael Harutyunian stated this at the September 11 sitting of
the RA National Assembly when giving the report on execution of
the 2006 RA state budget concerning the defence ministry.
According to the minister, considerable work was carried
out on effective organization of military duty and improvement
of living conditions of the military staff.
The speaker noted that much work was also done on providing
the military with necessary items and medical services,
improving their living conditions, creation of stock
resources, as well as improving their uniform. Remarkable
progress was made in terms of apartment construction. 491
apartments were delivered for use thanks to 3.985 bln drams
allocated in 2006. 1.789 bln drams was allocated from the 2006
state budget to 315 families of killed, disabled servicemen and
freedom fighters for the purchase of apartments - against 789.2
mln in 2005.
