PORTSMOUTH, SEPTEMBER 10, NOYAN TAPAN. Europe Boxing Youth Championship finished on September 8 in the English city of Portsmouth. Six Armenian sportsmen were among the delegates of 12 countries, who took part in the championship. Aram Papoyan (50 kg, Vanadzor) took the first place, David Shahbazian (41 kg, Vanadzor) took the second place, and David Madatian (38 kg, Sevan), Sevan Miroyan (40 kg, Etchmiadzin), Azat Khachatrian (44 kg, Yerevan), and Jonik Tonoyan (48 kg, Yerevan) took the third place. So, all six pupils of Stepan Atoyan, national team's principal coach, honored coach, returned with medals. Russian, English, and Armenian boxers won the first three places in the team competition.
